HOJA DE ESTILO | STYLE SHEET

Los artículos deben respetar las normas de publicación. De otro modo, su colaboración no será considerada para su publicación.

Información general:

  • Las colaboraciones se enviarán adjuntas por correo electrónico en formato Word (doc o docx).
  • Se recomienda que no excedan los 35.000 caracteres incluyendo notas y bibliografía.
  • Los artículos deben estar escritos con el estilo adecuado para una publicación académica. Recomendamos que repase el texto antes de enviarlo.
  • En todos los casos se adjuntará un documento independiente en el que se incluirán los siguientes datos: título del artículo, nombre del autor o autores, vinculación académica y un breve currículo (máx. 5 líneas).

A.   Definición de la hoja, texto y características: use la plantilla

  • 1. Citas y notas al pie
  • Las citas largas de más de 3 líneas deben aparecer en párrafos  justificados a ambos lados con sangría a la izquierda de 1,25 cm. y sin entrecomillar.
  • Las citas de menos de 3 líneas aparecerán dentro del texto, entre comillas.
  • Si en las citas se omite texto, se marcará usando tres puntos entre corchetes: […]
  • Notas al pie: justificadas, en estilo superíndice.
  • 2. Ilustraciones, tablas, imágenes, etc.
  • Se numerarán independientemente a lo largo de todo el texto. Deben tener leyenda (pie de foto) con “Figura xx†o “Tabla xx†respectivamente, seguida del texto de la leyenda. El texto se incluirá bajo la figura, tabla, imagen, etc., centrado en el texto. No deben superar el ancho de 500 píxeles. Además, debe enviar las ilustraciones como archivos independientes adjuntos en el correo electrónico, y en el cuerpo del texto se indicará claramente dónde deben insertarse.
  • Las imágenes deben indicar en todos los casos su procedencia en el pie de foto con todos los datos precisos para su identificación (autor, obra, año, URL, etc.) según el caso.
  • 3. Cualquier agradecimiento o referencia a proyectos, fundaciones, etc. se indicará en el lugar apropiado de la plantilla.
  •  4. Cualquier apéndice se incluirá tras la bibliografía.
  • 5. No numere las páginas ni utilice encabezamientos.

B.    Referencias bibliográficas

  • Las referencias:
    • Usarán formato abreviado: autor, año de publicación, páginas. Ejemplos (un autor, dos autores y tres o más autores): (Smith, 1997: 39-45), (López y Sarmiento, 2003: 34), (Fernández et al., 2011: 80)
    • Si las fuentes no incluyen paginación (web, e-book) se indicará el formato en lugar de la paginación o bien la abreviatura n.p. (no paginado) según se considere más apropiado. Ejemplos: (Smith, 1999: web) (Bauhaus, 2008: e-book) (Jiménez, 2011: n.p.)
    • En formato parentético no se usan abreviaturas como apud., ibíd., etc.
  • Bibliografía
  • 1. Libros: Apellidos, nombre completo (año entre paréntesis). Título del libro. Lugar de publicación: Editorial, ed. año de edición si es nueva.

Please, keep to the guidelines provided. Otherwise, your submission will not be considered for publication.

General guidelines:

  • Submissions should be sent via email attachments in Word Format (doc or docx).
  • Texts should not exceed 35.000 characters, including footnotes and works cited.
  • Papers must be written in a style and register adapted to academic writing. We strongly recommend proof-reading before submission.
  • In all cases a separate document will be attached in which will be included the following data: title of the article, name of the author or authors, institutional affiliation and a short bio (5 lines max.).

 A.   Type area, text layout and configuration: use the template

  • 1. Quotations and footnotes
  • Block quotes: more than 3 lines should be set as indented paragraphs without quotation marks. Left indent: 1,25 cm.
  • Quotations of less than three lines will appear within the body of the text between inverted commas.
  • Omissions in the quotations should be acknowledged by three dots between square brackets: […]
  • Footnotes: justified, number in superscript type.
  •  2. Illustrations, tables, images, etc.
  • They have to be numbered independently from each other throughout the entire text. They need to have captions with “Figure xx†or “Table xx†resp., followed by the caption text. They must be included under the Figure, Table, etc. and centred. They must not exceed a 500-pixel width. Please send illustrations and graphs as separate files, indicating in the body of the text where they are to be inserted.
  • All images must acknowledge their origin in the caption and include the necessary data for their identification (author, work, year, URL, etc.), as required.
  • 3. Any acknowledgments or references to funding, research projects, etc. must be stated in a footnote to the name of the author.
  • 4. Any appendices must be included after the Works Cited.
  • 5. Please do not include headers, or page numbers.

C.    References

  • References within the text and in footnotes:
    • Abbreviated format should be used; i.e. author + publication year + page number(s). For instance (one author, two authors, three or more authors):  (Smith, 1997: 39-45), (López & Sarmiento, 2003: 34), (Fernández et al., 2011: 80)
    • If sources do not include page numbers (web, e-book), the format will be stated instead. Alternatively you can use the abbreviation n.p. (non paged) as deemed appropriate. For instance: (Smith, 1999: web) (Bauhaus, 2008: e-book) (Jiménez, 2011: n.p.)
  • Works Cited
